Bruning man arrested after investigation of suspicious vehicle

BEATRICE – Gage County Sheriff’s officers arrested the driver discovered slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle four miles south of Firth Tuesday morning just before 6:00.

Authorities were sent to Nebraska Highway 41 and South 82^nd Road….for a welfare check on a suspicious vehicle along the side of the highway.  Deputies found 52-year-old John Jacobitz, of Bruning….slumped over in the driver’s seat.  He allowed law officers to search the pickup he was in. 

Deputies recovered about 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine from inside the vehicle, along with drug paraphernalia. 

Jacobitz was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was taken to the Gage County Jail, in Beatrice.
