MUDECAS Tournament day one results, day two schedule

BEATRICE, NE — The 94th annual MUDECAS Conference Basketball Tournament got underway Monday in Beatrice with the girls quarterfinals. 

Below are the results from the first day of the long-running tournament. 

GIRLS B DIVISION

No. 1 Lewiston def. No. 8 HTRS 44-31
No. 2 Meridian def. No. 7 Pawnee City 55-17
No. 6 Exeter-Milligan def. No. 3 Johnson County Central 41-19
No. 4 Palmyra def. No. 5 Tri County 42-22

GIRLS A DIVISION

No. 1 Johnson-Brock def. No. 8 Freeman 46-31
No. 2 BDS def. No. 7 Southern 61-27
No. 3 Falls City Sacred Heart def. No. 6 Diller-Odell 49-36

That sets up the following semifinals for Thursday, Jan. 12, in the girls bracket:

In the B Division (at Beatrice Middle School)

No. 2 Meridian vs. No. 6 Exeter-Milligan at 4 p.m.
No. 1 Lewiston vs. No. 4 Palmyra at 5:30 p.m.

In the A Division (at Beatrice City Auditorium)

No. 2 BDS vs No. 3 Falls City Sacred Heart at 3:30 p.m.
No. 1 Johnson-Brock vs. No. 4 Parkview Christian at 5 p.m.

The teams who lost Monday will play in the following consolation games Friday, Jan. 13 at Beatrice Middle School:

No. 5 Tri County vs. No. 8 HTRS at 4 p.m.
No. 3 Johnson County Central vs. No. 7 Pawnee City at 5:30 p.m.
No. 5 Sterling vs. No. 8 Freeman at 7 p.m.
No. 6 Diller-Odell vs. No. 7 Southern at 8:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, the boys take to the court to play their quarterfinal matchups. Select games will be broadcast on Ol' Red 99.5 and KWBE.
