FAIRBURY, Neb. -- A search warrant was used at a Fairbury residence and several drugs were reportedly found.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said officers used a narcotics search warrant for a home in the 1000 block of 5th St. at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. 

Officers said they found 27-year-old Alayna Montague and a minor child in the home when they arrived. After searching the home, officers reported finding multiple controlled substances including: methamphetamine, marijuana, THC wax, and several paraphernalia items.

According to authorities, Alayna Montague was booked at the Jefferson County jail. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (meth and THC wax), child abuse, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officials said 22-year-old Aleece Montague arrived later at the home and was also arrested in connection to the search warrant. She was booked at the Jefferson County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance (THC wax), possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This investigation is currently ongoing.
