Man arrested after reportedly knocking out another man in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department arrested a man after officers reportedly saw him knock out another man.
LPD said officers were in the area of 14th St. and O St. on Dec. 31 at 11:45 p.m. when one of them reportedly saw an altercation between two men.
Officials said one of the men was 21-year-old Damian Robles. Robles reportedly punched a 25-year-old man. The officers reported that the victim fell to the ground and Robles then hit the victim in the head.
According to authorities, the victim was unconscious and the officers called Lincoln Fire and Rescue to help them. The victim was then taken to a local hospital and was reported to have a significant head injury.
Officers said they talked to witnesses in the area and came to the conclusion that Robles and the victim were having a verbal exchange when Robles decided to punch him.
LPD said Robles was taken into custody and lodged in jail for first-degree assault.
