BEATRICE – A Beatrice man was recognized Wednesday by the Board of Public Works for his service on the city advisory body that oversees electric, water, wastewater and street departments.

Dave Eskra served twelve years on the board, from 2010 to 2022…..several as Chairman of the B-P-W. He was elected as a Second Ward Beatrice City Councilman in November and recently began his term.  Eskra said it was an honor and a privilege to serve on the Board of Public Works.

"There is more information that comes to this board that is disseminated from our staff that more people should know...and they would be somewhat less confused as to how things work. I just want to thank you for the time and for your leadership. The city is in incredibly good shape and we've got some very talented people in every aspect of the Board of Public Works. It's in great shape. I'm happy to be a part of Mayor Morgan's council...I think it will be fun..I think we'll have a lot of neat things...but we are also put in a better place as a council because of what you guys do as a board, and how this city is run....and I thank you for you time and your efforts."

Bob Moran was appointed the new Chairman of the Board of Public Works….and Darin Baehr has been elected as B-P-W Secretary.

Beatrice Mayor Bob Morgan says he will offer the appointment of Steve Hartley to the public works board to fill the vacant position. Hartley’s appointment will be up for city council confirmation, next Tuesday night.
