Beatrice Police arrest motorist after finding suspected cocaine
Arrest made after traffic stop for malfunctioning taillight
BEATRICE – Local police arrested two people over the Christmas holiday weekend…both on Saturday.
Saturday morning just after two a.m., a Beatrice Police Officer observed a Dodge Caravan northbound on South 6th, with a malfunctioning taillight. The vehicle was stopped by an officer at 6th and Market.
The driver provided police with his license and an expired registration. The driver was also asked about a rolled-up one-hundred-dollar bill in his pocket, which an officer suspected was used to ingest drugs.
The driver consented to a search of the vehicle, and police said they found a white powdery substance on the dash, next to the gear shift. Police also found a plastic bag filled with a white powdery substance between the driver and passenger seat. A field test of the substance indicated it was cocaine.
Police arrested 41-year-old Jeremy Snyder on suspicion of drug and drug paraphernalia possession. His appearance bond was set Tuesday in Gage County Court, at $10,000, with further hearing scheduled for January 17th.

In a separate traffic stop Saturday night after 10 p.m., Police arrested 41-year-old Shane Douglas on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and a turn signal violation. A traffic stop was made near 8th and Grable Streets.
