GENEVA, NE — The Fillmore Central Panthers won both its games against the Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines Saturday. 

The Panthers won the girls game 37-19 and the boys contest 52-46.

Fillmore Central trailed in the girls game 10-5 after the first quarter, but only surrendered nine points the rest of the contest. The Panthers held Wilber-Clatonia to three points in the second quarter, two in the third and four in the final period. 

Meanwhile Faith Engle scored 13 to lead the Panthers in the win. Reyna Hafer finished with 10 points. 

The second and fourth quarters were the strongest for the Panthers as they scored 13 in each of the two quarters. 

In the boys contest, it was Fillmore Central leading after the opening quarter 16-10. Wilber-Clatonia fought back early in the second quarter, beginning the period on an 8-2 run to tie the game at 18. 

The Panthers went on 13-3 run next though to end the first half and led 31-21 at the break. 

The Fillmore Central lead stayed in-tact at 42-33 after three quarters. Wilber-Clatonia would make a late push, cutting its deficit to 47-44, but couldn't complete the comeback. 

Fillmore Central held on for the 52-46 win. 

Daniel Stoner and Jarin Tweedy each had 13 points for Fillmore Central. Carter Skleba and Ashton Pulliam paced Wilber-Clatonia with 15 points apiece.
