Beatrice, Malcolm split Friday games

BEATRICE - For the second game in a row, Beatrice basketball settles for split.
On a chilly Friday night, Beatrice hosted Malcolm at the O-Zone and the Lady Orange fell to the Clippers by a score of 50-41, as the Orangemen blew out Malcolm 60-37.
The girls game saw Malcolm get out to a sizable advantage early and really never look back. After having Alyssa Fortik average 16.6 points per game last year, she returns this year, and the Clippers add another elite player in Halle Dolliver, a young freshman. Those two combined for 32 of Malcolm's 51 points.
Beatrice cut the deficit to six at one point in the fourth, but having trailed by as much as 16 early, it was too much to overcome. Addie Hatcliff led the Big Orange with 15. Beatrice drops their first of the year, falling to 4-1 with the loss.
The Orangemen took it right to the Clippers and snatched a blowout victory.
The Clippers had no answer for Tucker Timmerman who put together a career high 22. Beatrice only led by six at half, but outscored Malcolm 29-13 in the final 16 minutes to pick up the win.
Beatrice improves to 3-2.
