Three men were arrested for auto theft in Lincoln
The Lincoln Police Department arrested three men for reportedly stealing a vehicle.
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department arrested three men for reportedly stealing a vehicle.
LPD said officers were sent to the 1600 block of Otoe at 10:00 a.m. on Nov. 26 for a report of suspicious people.
Officers said the caller reported seeing unknown males getting out of a silver Honda SUV and checking door handles of other vehicles that were parked in the neighborhood. The caller told LPD what the license plate of the Honda was and officers found out the vehicle was a 2014 Honda Pilot that was reported stolen out of Omaha.
According to authorities, they found the Honda Pilot at U-Stop, 2140 K St. Inside the Honda was 21-year-old Kyaw Wah, of Omaha. There were also two more people, 22-year-old Than Tun and a 17-year-old boy, both of Omaha, inside the store.
Officials said they found a catalytic converter and a reciprocating saw inside of the vehicle. The converter was reportedly cut from a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe in the 2900 block of Plymouth.
LPD said Tun was arrested for felonies in theft by receiving stolen property, possession of burglar tools and criminal possession of a financial transaction device. Wah and the 17-year-old were arrested for felonies in theft by receiving stolen property, and possession of burglar tools. Tun and Wah were both lodged in jail while the teen was lodged at the Youth Assessment Center.
