Ol' Red and KGMT Planning the 22nd Annual Free Thanksgiving Meal

FAIRBURY - For the 22nd year in a row Ol' Red 99-5 and KGMT will be providing a free traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving day in Fairbury.
The meal will be held at the Fairbury Elks Lodge, 525 G Street, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. It is open to anyone who may be without family, friends, or for anyone who isn't able to prepare it. With the help of many sponsors they are able to serve 300-400 people, and volunteers also deliver to the elderly that normally get meals on wheels.
Back this year, will be the option of dining in, as the pandemic converted it to a drive through meal for the last couple of years. Rays Applemarket also helps cook the turkeys for the event before the radio station staff debones and prepares it for serving.
For individuals that feel the need, Ol' Red and KGMT also collects donations which are split between Blue Valley Community Action Partnership food pantry and the Hope Crisis Center.
There is no need to make a reservation, just show up for lunch on Thanksgiving day. Over the years the annual event has served over 7,000 meals.
