Community Players Director to take new position

Jamie Ulmer to become the head of a Lawrence, Kansas-based theatre organization

BEATRICE – The long-time Artistic Director for the Community Players of Beatrice will be taking a new position in Kansas.  In a release from the organization, Jamie Ulmer has accepted the position of Executive Director for Theatre Lawrence, in Lawrence, Kansas.

Ulmer calls it a bittersweet time, but said he is looking forward to the next phase of his career.  Community Players Board President Mason Gustafson said for 25 years, Ulmer has become the enduring face of the organization and led to the success the theatre organization has today.

Ulmer will remain with Community Players through February…with the final show he will direct, being the upcoming “A Christmas Story: The Musical”.  He said he’s forever grateful for the friendships and opportunities Community Players and the community has provided him over the years.

Ulmer has been with Community Players of Beatrice since 1997.  The Board of Directors for the organization has formed a search committee in preparation for finding a new Executive Director.
