BDS runs through Nebraska Lutheran in D2 playoffs first round
SHICKLEY, NE— The BDS Eagles are off to the round of 16 in the Class D2 playoffs after defeating the Nebraska Lutheran Knights 46-6 Thursday night in Shickley.

SHICKLEY, NE— The BDS Eagles are off to the round of 16 in the Class D2 playoffs after defeating the Nebraska Lutheran Knights 46-6 Thursday night in Shickley.
BDS scored on each of its five drives in the first half. The Eagles defense meanwhile forced turnover-on-downs on the Knights' first three possessions and got three turnovers as well to shutout Nebraska Lutheran in the first half.
After two quarters, the Eagles led 38-0.
Nebraska Lutheran got a score late in the third quarter, quickly answered by BDS and no one scored in the final period.
For the Eagles, Easton Weber, Jaron Norder and Seth Stengel each scored two rushing touchdowns. Weber led the way in the yardage department with 124 rush yards. BDS did not throw a single pass in the game.
For Nebraska Lutheran, Isaac Beiermann, thrust into the quarterback spot after an injury to starting QB Trey Richert last week, went 16-39 passing for 148 yards, 1 touchdown and two interceptions.
BDS (9-0) awaits the results of the first round of the D2 playoff games for find out its next opponent. The advancing teams will be re-seeded in a 16-team statewide bracket to be used for the rest of the tournament.
Nebraska Lutheran's season ends at 4-5.
