Lincoln woman cited for motor vehicle homicide

A woman from Lincoln was cited and released for a car accident that killed a man in September.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A woman from Lincoln was cited and released for a car accident that killed a man in September.

The Lincoln Police Department said a 32-year-old woman was cited and released for misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide and possession of marijuana at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The citation was in connection to a fatal motor vehicle crash from Sept. 24.

Officials said the accident happened at NW 19th St. and W O St. The woman was traveling southbound on NW 19th St. in a white Hyundai Sedan and was turning left onto W O St. when she hit a motorcycle that was westbound.

According to authorities, 45-year-old Jeffery Zeiger was the driver of the motorcycle. Zeiger was taken to the hospital and later died there.
