As the 2022 Nebraska high school softball season begins to wind down, four area teams have qualified for district finals — the last round before the state tournament.

Beatrice, Crete, Norris and Fillmore Central/Exeter-Milligan/Friend (FCEMF) have reached the district final round. Beatrice, Crete and Norris are all in Class B while FCEMF competes in Class C.

Norris and FCEMF earned district final spots by winning their respective subdistricts. Beatrice and Crete qualified for this round via wildcard.

District final contests are best-of-three game series with all games being played on the same day. Competing schools can choose to play on either Friday, Oct. 7, or Saturday, Oct. 8.

The Lady O are the No. 4 seed in Class B and will host No. 13 seed Waverly at Hannibal Park on Saturday, Oct. 8. First pitch of game one is set for 11 a.m.

Norris earned the No. 10 seed in Class B and will face No. 7 seed Scottsbluff, meaning the Titans will head west for their district final games. The two face off Saturday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. mountain time.

Crete is the No. 15 seed in Class B and will head to Blair to take on the No. 2 seed Bears on Friday, Oct. 7. The games will be played at the Blair Youth Softball Complex. Game one will start at 10 a.m.

FCEMF is the No. 16 seed in Class C and will play top-seed Hastings St. Cecilia. The games will be played in Hastings at the Bill Smith Complex on Friday, Oct. 7. The first game will begin at 12 p.m.

Teams who win their district final series will advance to the state softball tournament, which will be held in Hastings from Wednesday, Oct. 12, through Friday, Oct. 14.
