LPD: Vehicles and property damaged in shooting, two injured

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two men were injured in a shooting in Lincoln along with vehicles and other property being damaged.

The Lincoln Police Department said officers were dispatched to the area of 23rd St. and Judson St. after multiple reports of gunshots on Sunday morning around 2:00 a.m.

Officers said the shooting occurred as a large gathering was ending nearby. 

According to authorities, two 20-year-old men, from Omaha, were found with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers also saw that the gunfire had damaged vehicles and other property in the area.

Officials said witnesses reported that the suspects fired into the crowd as the people were leaving and then left the scene in a vehicle.

LPD said the area is secured for processing and collecting evidence throughout the day and asks that people avoid the area at this time. The investigation is ongoing and in the preliminary stages.
