North Lincoln stabbing leaves one dead

The Lincoln Police Department said they are investigating a homicide that happened Tuesday night.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department said they are investigating a homicide that happened Tuesday night. 

LPD said that stabbing happened on W Fairfield St. in north Lincoln on Sept. 20 around 11:30 p.m.

According to LPD officers, they responded to the stabbing call and found a 36-year-old woman with serious injuries. 

It was reported the officers provided aid until Lincoln Fire and Rescue arrived and transported her to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. 

Investigators said they are in the process of interviewing witnesses and crime scene investigators are processing the scene. 

LPD said the suspect, a 61-year-old Lincoln man, was known to the victim. Officers said they are actively looking for him, been they have not found him yet. 

This is an active investigation.
