CRETE, NE — Doane University Athletics is excited to announce the selection of Zack Wilcox as Head Women's Wrestling Coach and Tsogtbayar "Buka" Tserendagva as assistant coach for the inaugural season starting this fall. Wilcox and Tserendagva have served as assistant coaches for the Tiger men the last couple of years and their experience in freestyle wrestling make them the right fit for the Tiger women.

"I am excited to get the women's program going and show the work that the staff has put in," said Dana Vote, Doane's Director of Wrestling. "Adding Coach Wilcox and Coach Buka full-time is huge for Doane Wrestling. They both have a ton of knowledge in freestyle and will help elevate this women's program.  We have a great group of women coming in and some that I feel can make a splash on the national scene right away."

Wilcox previously coached at Midland University before moving over to Doane with Coach Vote. He also coaches for the Nebraska USA Wrestling (NEUSAW) Freestyle and Greco teams. Last month, Wilcox led the Team USA 20U Greco-Roman Wrestling team to the championship of the Pan-American Wrestling Championships in Oaxtepecc, Mexico.

Tserendagva came to Doane in 2019-20 to join Coach Vote after serving as an assistant coach at Northwest Kansas Tech. Prior to moving to the United States, Tserendagva coached in Mongolia and served as the Mongolian Paralympics National Coach and the Mongolian Junior National Team coach. In 2016, Mongolia posted Top 3 finishes for both the men's and women's junior national teams.

Wilcox, Tserendagva, along with Vote, will lead the Doane Women's Wrestling team into their inaugural season which begins on November 5 at the Friends Open in Wichita, Kansas.
