BEATRICE – This summer’s season at the Big Blue Aquatic Park in Beatrice turned out to be a good one, from an attendance standpoint.

"The total admissions throughout the pool season was 18,233."  Mayor Stan Wirth says there were over 400 season passes sold for the season.

"That generates about $38,000. We had daily admissions of ninety two hundred and twenty five...and then we had season pass admissions of nine thousand, thirteen."

The aquatic park operation generated over $84,000 income…which doesn’t cover all of the costs….but Wirth says the figure does helps offset the expense of providing a valuable service to the community.  Annual rates at the Big Blue Aquatic Park have remained the same for several years.

The park opens around the Memorial Day Holiday weekend and typically closes in mid-August…when the facility loses lifeguard help as students return to school.
