BEATRICE – It’s not all black and white.  Now, there’s some orange, and a little shade of red in there.

The new logos have been installed on the northeast Beatrice water tower, next to the letters that show the city’s name.

The tower was repainted this month by a company that the city contracts with, for regular maintenance and repainting. The work started around the first of August.

Beatrice Board of Public Works members and city officials opted to add the touch of a logo to the tower, using the letter B used in the city’s “Stake Your Claim” marketing effort.

Painting the two 16-by-16-foot logos added nearly $14,000 in cost.   Officials are looking at also adding logos to the city’s other water tower at the south edge of the community when it comes up on the schedule for repainting.

Tower located at 19th and Jackson
