Doane picked sixth in preseason GPAC football poll

CRETE, NE — After finishing the 2021 football season in sixth place in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), the Doane Tigers have been picked to finish in the same spot this year.
The Tigers received 52 points in the poll voted on by the GPAC's coaches. Coaches can not vote for their own team.
Defending NAIA Champion Morningside is picked to win the conference, collecting 10 of 11 first place votes. The Mustangs also claimed the No. 1 spot in the NAIA preseason top 25 poll. Northwestern College, voted to finish second, received the other first place vote.
Doane begins the 2022 season on Saturday, Sept. 3, at home against Concordia. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. You can listen on all Doane's football games this year on Ol' Red 99.5. All Tiger home games will be carried by NCN TV as well.
