LINCOLN, Neb. -- A Lincoln man was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison on Friday for production of child pornography. 

59-year-old Matt Tibbels of Lincoln was sentenced to 21 1/2 years in prison and 10 years supervised release for producing child pornography. There is no parole in the federal system. 

Tibbels was sentenced by U.S. District Judge John Gerrard, and was ordered to also pay $29,000 which will contribute to funds established for victims of these types of cases. 

It was reported that this case began as part of a Freenet peer-to-peer investigation by the FBI concerning a Freenet user who was receiving child pornography. 

In a press release it was stated that the FBI traced IP addresses associated with the investigation of Tibbel's residence. 

The residence was also operated as an in-home daycare. 

On October 5, 2021 a search warrant was executed where authorities seized multiple devices. 

Authorities said that a forensic examination of the devices revealed that a total of 887 child pornography image files and 147 child pornography video files. 

Officials said that while reviewing electronic devices that were seized, FBI agents saw a video and several images that showed a child changing clothes in the main bedroom of the Tibbel's family home. 

It was reported that the child was positively identified as a child who had attended that daycare.
