LINCOLN, Neb. -- A man sits in jail after Lincoln Police find over 170 grams of weed in his car.

LPD said they talked to 26-year-old Jack Freriks during a traffic stop in the area of 11th and M Street at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday.

The report said the officer that was doing the traffic stop knew Freriks had several active warrants out for his arrest.

According to officers, Freriks attempted to run away as they were taking him into custody but police were successfully able to do so.

LPD said officers found a total of over 170 grams of marijuana if four different bags along with a 45-caliber handgun on the floor.

The report said Freriks was cited and lodged at the Lancaster County Jail for a second offense in resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of marijuana.
