TSCI inmate elbows staff member in face causing 'serious injury'

TECUMSEH - An inmate at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) assaulted a staff member, Wednesday. 

According to a news release from the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, the inmate used his elbow to strike the staff member in the face injuring the staff members nose and eye. The staff member was "seriously injured" meaning they required immediate and urgent medical treatment, and their usual activity was restricted. 

An investigation of the incident has been launched.
