Fight leads to shots fired in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. -- One person was cited after a fight allegedly led to gunshots in Lincoln.
The Lincoln Police Department dispatched officers to the 3800 block of North 56th Street for a reported fight in progress along with the sound of gunshots at 5:50 p.m. on July 25.
Officers said there were no gunshot victims or damaged property found when they arrived but they did find shell casings at the scene.
According to authorities, there were other officers in the area at the time of the call and saw a white Chevy Tahoe leaving the area at an undisclosed high rate of speed.
The report said 38-year-old Lagarian Gamble was the only person in the vehicle and was the driver they made contact with.
LPD said they found an AR-15 .223/5.56 style rifle along with numerous rifle magazines and a 50 round Glock 9mm handgun drum magazine in an investigation.
Officers said they determined that Gamble was a convicted felon which prohibits him from owning or possessing a firearm.
According to authorities, Gamble was cited and lodged at the Lancaster County Jail for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a short-barreled rifle.
The investigation into the original fight is ongoing.
