No known suspects in Lincoln car fires

Police are investigating after two weekend car fires in Lincoln.

LINCOLN, Neb.-- Police are investigating after two weekend car fires in Lincoln. 

Lincoln Police officers said they responded to a report of a car fire around 3 a.m. on Saturday. 

When the officers arrived, they said they found two vehicles, a 2006 Hyundai Tucson and a 2017 Chevy Equinox, destroyed. 

According to authorities, Fire Inspector Tom Schmidt responded and advised the origin of the fire was likely papers set on fire in the inside of the vehicle. 

LPD said there are no named suspects at this time.
