Lincoln resident's vehicle shot at while driving

The Lincoln Police Department are investigating a shooting of a moving vehicle with children in it.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department are investigating a shooting of a moving vehicle with children in it.

LPD said police were dispatched to the 600 block of W A Street on a report of a weapons offence at 3:28 p.m. on July 4.

The report said the 23-year-old victim reported driving in the area of 12th and A Street with their two children, six-months-old and one-year-old, when they noticed a white sedan following them.

According to authorities, the victim reported hearing gunshots before the white sedan turned and sped off.

Officials said the victim noticed six bullet holes/strikes to the rear of their vehicle when they returned home.

Officers said they conducted a check of the area and located six spent 9mm casings near the intersection of 12th and B Street. The investigation is ongoing.
