Eastern Nebraska under excessive heat watch for weekend

People across eastern Nebraska will be dealing with very hot temperatures this weekend.

People across eastern Nebraska will be dealing with very hot temperatures this weekend. 

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for a majority of Nebraska along with parts of Kansas and Iowa. It will last Saturday through Monday. 

Heat indices are forecast to reach between 95-100 degrees on Saturday and reach between 100-108º on Sunday and Monday. 

Weather officials remind people to drink plenty of water while outside and try to take as frequent breaks as possible whether it be in the shade or inside.
