LPD investigating motorcycle fatality
The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a traffic crash at S. 84th Street and Augusta Drive that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old Lincoln man.
By News Channel NebraskaLINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a traffic crash at S. 84th Street and Augusta Drive that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old Lincoln man.
Authorities said that on Saturday around 9:45 p.m., a motorcycle was traveling northbound on S. 84th Street when it struck an SUV that was southbound, turning east onto Augusta Drive.
Officials said the driver of the motorcycle died at the scene.
LPD is working to notify the family of the man killed.
S. 84th Street between Pioneers and Old Cheney was closed from 9:45 p.m. but has been open as of 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
Officers closed the road to investigate the crash.
The investigation is ongoing and LPD is asking any witnesses of the crash to come forward with any information by calling their non-emergency number 402-441-6000.
