Communities honored for Main Street accomplishments

Inspiring Excellence award winners announced for 2022

BEATRICE – Beatrice volunteers and projects have been recognized with eight honors in the 2022 Nebraska Main Street Inspiring Excellence Awards competition.

Dana Hydo is one of two winners of the Volunteer of the Year award.  Quilt Stitches is one of four winners of the Business of the Year Honor. 

The new Beatrice Fire and Rescue Station was the honoree for new construction project, while Vintage Venue was one of two winners of the Adaptive Reuse Project competition.

Clean Slate Soap was one of two winners for Commercial Interior Improvement, while the Mercantile Building in Beatrice was one of two winners in the Façade Improvement category. 

This year’s Public Partner Award in Nebraska Main Street communities goes to the Big Give Gage fundraising campaign.

In the Streetscape Public Improvement category…..Beatrice Murals was one of four projects honored with a first place recognition. 

The 2022 award recipients are:

Adaptive Reuse Project: (tie) Vintage Venue, Beatrice, NE and 40 North Tap + Grille, Grand Island, NE

New Construction Project: Beatrice Fire Hall, Beatrice, NE

Interior Improvement Residential: 210 Main Street, Wayne, NE

Interior Improvement Commercial: (tie) Clean Slate Soap, Beatrice, NE and Pinnacle Bank, Neligh, NE

Façade Improvement Project: (tie) Mercantile Building, Beatrice, NE and Neligh Family Dentistry, Neligh, NE

Public Partner Award: Give Big Gage, Beatrice, NE

Streetscape/Public Improvement Project: (4-way tie) Beatrice Murals, Beatrice, NE, Canteen District, North Platte, NE, Wayne Art Walk, Wayne, NE and Gazebo Park Restoration, Weeping Water, NE

Volunteer of the Year:

  • Jamie Anderson, Revitalize Wayne, Wayne, NE

Business of the Year: 

  • Quilt Stitches, Beatrice, NE
  • Pinnacle Bank, Neligh, NE
