One vehicle accident claims life of St. George, Kansas woman

BEATRICE – A northeast Kansas woman was killed in an accident near St. George, Thursday morning.

The Kansas Highway Patrol identifies the victim as 28-year-old Tyra Anderson.  The 2001 Toyota Avalon she was driving east, went off Military Trail Road for an unknown reason, and struck a tree. 

Anderson died at the scene of the 10:45 a.m. accident.   A passenger in the car, a one-year-old boy from St. George was taken to the Wamego, Kansas hospital for treatment of serious injuries.   A three-year-old boy also from St. George who was a passenger, was not seriously hurt.

Both children were in child safety seats.  The fatality victim, Anderson, was using a safety restraint, according to the KHP. 

The accident scene was about two-and-a-half miles east of St. George, Kansas.
