Huskers add Baylor transfer Ana Carmen Zamburek

Nebraska Women's Tennis Coach Scott Jacobson announced the addition of Baylor transfer Ana Carmen Zamburek to the 2022-23 roster.

Nebraska Women's Tennis Coach Scott Jacobson announced the addition of Baylor transfer Ana Carmen Zamburek to the 2022-23 roster.

"I felt instant chemistry with the coaches and fell in love with what is waiting for me," Zamburek said.

Zamburek, a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, brings an impressive resume to Nebraska. She spent last season at Baylor, helping the Bears to a season-high No. 11 ranking and a regular season record of 15-8. Zamburek saw action in both singles and doubles and was a major contributor at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

In her junior career, the member of the Dominican Republic Fed Cup Team was a doubles finalist in a 25K pro tournament, had a career-best ITF singles rankings at No. 247 in March of 2021 and made it to four singles finals and nine doubles finals.

Coach Jacobson on Zamburek choosing Nebraska: "Ana is the type of individual our program needs. She is passionate about the game, and will not only help us on the singles court, but is a tremendous doubles player. We feel privileged she has chosen to further her career at Nebraska."
