LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln Police responded to a weapons violation report following the discovery of a missing doorknob on a vacant apartment.

Sunday morning LPD officers responded to the 500 block of S 27th for a report of a weapons violation.

Officials said that the 70-year-old victim reported that they were notified by their contractor the doorknob was missing from the front door of a vacant apartment.

Authorities said that the victim went to the building to check on the apartment and found it was being occupied by 25-year-old Shavon West and 39-year-old Jeremiah Croghan.

LPD said that both West and Croghan were ordered to leave by the victim.

Officials said that the victim reported West allegedly raised a hatchet style axe over their head, and allegedly causing the victim to be afraid.

Authorities said that the victim then fled the apartment and contacted the police.
