LPD involved in brief standoff late Sunday night

Lincoln Police were involved in a brief standoff outside a home near 31st and Vine Streets just south of Peter Pan Park late Sunday night.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln Police were involved in a brief standoff outside a home near 31st and Vine Streets just south of Peter Pan Park late Sunday night.

Multiple cruisers were seen gathering in the area around 10:15 p.m. Vine Street was eventually shut down between 30th and 32nd Streets.

Police cleared the scene about two hours later. 

Lincoln Police said that 22-year-old Thomas Doran was arrested early Monday.

Police were called to a home on the 3000 block of Vine Street just after 10 p.m. Sunday.

Witnesses told police they saw Doran assaulting a woman in front of the residence before fleeing inside.

Police said Doran was seen loading a rifle and pointing it out the window at people outside. 

Authorities said he eventually surrendered to police. 10/11 Now reports that police were at the scene for about two and a half hours.

Doran faces domestic assault, terroristic threat and felony weapon charges.
