Meridian girls, Freeman boys win MUDECAS track meet

The schools of the MUDECAS Conference squared off Saturday in the group's annual track and field meet to crown conference champs for the season.

The schools of the MUDECAS Conference squared off Saturday in the group's annual track and field meet to crown conference champs for the season. 

Meridian won the girls title with a score of 106. BDS finished second with a 92 team score. Sterling claimed third with 91 points. 

On the boys side Freeman took the gold with 120 points. Falls City Sacred Heart finished in second with 109 points. Tri County claimed third with a team score of 78. 

Meridian's Kaylee Pribyl set a school record while helping her team to a win. Pribyl set the record in pole vault with a jump of 10' 9" to win the event. 

Pribyl was also a member of Meridian's 4x100 relay team which took first place. Other members of the relay team are Braxtyn Rut, Saege Barnell and Tyleiah Gooding. 

Pribyl also claimed a silver medal in the long jump for Meridian. 

Kimberly Schropfer won the high jump for the Mustangs. 

Carter Niles helped secure Freeman's win in the boys standings with gold medal finishes in the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles. Taylan Vetrovsky claimed the top spot in the High Jump for the Falcons. 

Carter Ruse, Wesley Havelka also brought home first place finishes for Freeman in the 800m run and 3200m run, respectively. Ruse also finished second in the 1600m run. 

Freeman's relay teams earned second place finishes in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Falls City Sacred Heart earned the gold in both those events.
