Severe weather possible to end work week
The National Weather Service is tracking the possibility for severe storms to hit eastern Nebraska on Thursday and Friday.
Thursday, far southeast Nebraska and much of eastern Kansas is under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms. A "slight" risk is 2 out of 5 on the National Weather Service's scale.
Weather officials say the main hazards are expected to be large hail and strong hail.
Friday, much of eastern Nebraska, except for the far southeast corner are under the slight risk. North central Kansas is under the same conditions.
The NWS says large hail and strong winds are also in the cards Friday. The possibility for isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out either.
Storms both days are expected to last from the evening into the night time hours.
