OFD battles house fire Wednesday morning

Firefighters were called to a reported house fire in northwest Omaha on Wednesday morning.

OMAHA, Neb. - Firefighters were called to a reported house fire in northwest Omaha on Wednesday morning.

The Omaha Fire Department received a call for a reported house fire on 119th and Newport avenues, north of Military Road, they responded to the call at approximately 9:21 a.m.

Officials on the scene say the fire was extinguished in about 10 minutes.

The Omaha Fire Department also reported that the fire left the home uninhabitable and the siding on the house next door sustained damage from the neighboring home as well. 

The Omaha Fire Department and the Red Cross were at the scene to assist.
