BEATRICE – A Montana Police Department Administrator is up for consideration as the next Police Chief for the City of Beatrice.

A resolution appointing John Hickman is on the agenda of Monday night’s Beatrice City Council meeting.  Hickman has been the Chief of the Glendive, Montana Police Department and was one of three finalists from more than a dozen applicants for the position.

Glendive is a community of more than 5,100 people in eastern Montana.

If his appointment is approved, Hickman will take over this summer for long-time Police Chief Bruce Lang, who plans to retire in June after leading the department for thirty years.
