LINCOLN, Neb. -- Authorities are looking for a stolen firearm and ammunition in the metro area. 

Lincoln Police Department said that Monday officers responded to an address on the Oregon Trail for a stolen firearm report. 

Officials said that a 66-year-old man reported that sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning an unknown party had entered his vehicle, which was parked in his driveway, and took his .45 caliber handgun. 

LPD said that the suspect had also taken two magazines for the handgun and a holster. 

According to authorities, the man said that he believed he had locked the vehicle. He is looking at a loss estimated at $725.
