Local families make possible book vending feature, for Beatrice elementary students

BEATRICE – Lincoln Elementary School received a new machine Thursday, aimed at supporting reading, among young children.

Inchy, the Bookworm Machine was unveiled at the school….a project supported by donations from Beatrice families.

Executive Director of the Beatrice Educational Foundation, Doris Martin says contributions from Garnett Investment Strategies….the Garnett Family….Paul, Alisha, Tracy and Tyler…kicked off the campaign….with the Byars Family….Dennis, Janet, Mark and Jon finishing up the fundraising for the project.

Martin says memorial funds from the family of Marilyn Guenther also contributed to the project.  The project also benefited from donors that include the Class of 1991, Jim and Pauline Bauer, Marvin and Mary Camacho-Cook…Dr. Rich and Kathy Woodward, Carol Cox, Pastor Jimmy and Carol Shelbourn and the Fortnightly Club.

The Lincoln-Stoddard Parent-Teacher Organization will provide the books for Inchy….a vending machine that distributes books. The B-E-F has a goal to make it as easy as possible for elementary students to get books…by using a fun method that encourages reading.
