BEATRICE - Earth work started on construction of a new parking lot at Beatrice Community Hospital.

The north entrance to the street in front of the hospital was closed to allow contractors to haul in dirt for the subgrade of the new lot. The work was expected to take about a week.

Motorists can turn off U.S. Highway 77 onto Northgate Blvd. on the north end of the campus but are restricted from traveling south onto the street in front of the hospital to reach the Women and Children's clinic parking lot or the hospital campus.

Motorists should instead drive around the back side of the hospital on Hospital Parkway, entering the campus and the clinic parking lot from the south.

The south entrance to the hospital off U.S. Highway 77 remains fully open.

Beatrice Community Hospital recently announced planned construction of a new Beatrice Family and Internal Medicine Clinic, onto the north side of the hospital.
