One dead after crash at 70th and Holdrege

One person has died following an accident on 70th and Holdrege in Lincoln.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- One person is dead after a car accident in Lincoln. 

Lincoln Police said the crash happened Monday night near 70th and Holdrege Streets. 

Authorities say a car was driving on 70th at a high rate of speed, when they hit a pickup that was preparing to turn east on to Holdrege. 

The driver, 19-year-old Kolby Elliot, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, where they later died. 

This is an ongoing investigation and no citations have been issued at this time.
