BEATRICE – Police summoned because of an unruly person at a south Beatrice convenience store arrested a female on various charges.

Police officers were summoned at 3:24 Tuesday morning and met with a clerk, who said the woman had refused to leave the store after she tried to purchase items, but her card was declined.  The woman refused to leave and claimed the clerk had stolen her money.  No proof of a transaction was found.

Police arriving told the woman she had to leave the store, but she refused.  Officers had to physically escort her out of the business.  Once outside, she was advised to leave the property, but refused to comply, and allegedly resisted officers as they were trying to arrest her.

Police transported 28-year-old Tiffany Morris to the Gage County Jail, where authorities discovered a white crystalline substance, a glass smoking device and four syringes in a pack she was wearing.

Police said the smoking device had white residue and one of the syringes appeared to have been used.  Field testing of the substance showed it to be suspected methamphetamine.

Morris was jailed for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
