Stephen J. Goracke, 41, of Sterling died Friday, February 4, 2022.  He was born on November 27, 1980 at Tecumseh to Joseph and Suzanne Goracke.  He graduated from Sterling High School in 1999 and then from SCC Milford in 2001.  On April 21, 2009 he married Kimberly A. Lake and they were blessed with two daughters.  He worked in the construction business for many years and also farmed.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of St. Mary.  Steve enjoyed fishing, smoking meats, having sea food boils, taking vacations to the beach, being with family and friends, and especially spending time with his two daughters.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Goracke of Papillion; two daughters, Izabelle and Brianne Goracke; his mother, Suzie Goracke of Sterling; sister, Julie (Erik) France of Olathe; brothers, Brian (Corinne) Goracke of Hastings and Pat (Amy) Goracke of Sterling; parents-in-law, Dwight and Barbara Schmidt; sister-in-law, Cindy (Tim) Reilly; brother-in-law, Dan (Carol) Schmidt; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Goracke; father-in-law, Darrell Lake, Jr.; grandparents, Edward and Gertrude Goracke and Orville and Irene Wusk.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church of St. Mary with Father Craig Clinch celebrant. Inurnment of the cremains will be at the Sterling Cemetery.  Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church.  There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place but Steve’s book will be available for signatures at Zink-Fox Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the family’s choice.   www.foxfuneralhome.net   Arrangements entrusted to Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling.
