BEATRICE – Most of eastern Nebraska missed the heavier snow totals from the latest storm that impacted the Midwest.

Not so, in parts of Iowa……where the western and central areas saw from four inches of snow in the southwest, to ten inches in northwest and north-central Iowa.  Near Fort Calhoun north of Omaha, almost five inches of snow was reported.

Still, in southeast Nebraska, enough snow and ice fell overnight Friday into early Saturday, to send plow crews out to make a sweep over streets and roads.

Areas near Auburn and Table Rock, Nebraska reported three to four inches of snow…..some of the heavier amounts in southeast Nebraska.  Lincoln, Beatrice and Fairbury received an inch or less of snow from the latest storm.

One of the heaviest snowfall reports received by the National Weather Service was an eleven-and-a-half inch total, in West Des Moines, Iowa.
