BEATRICE - While snow isn't accumulating at the rate forecasts initially projected, the cold temperatures and high winds are entering southeast Nebraska.

At about 3:00 PM Saturday, Beatrice clocked northerly winds in the 20-25 MPH range with wind chills in the low negative-teen range. Snow totals are not yet known as the strong winds have blown much of the accumulating flakes into snow banks. The region remains in Winter Storm Warning until midnight, when a Wind Chill Advisory takes over until 9:00 AM Sunday.

Overnight temperatures are as low as -18 degrees with wind chills nearing -30 degrees. The coldest period looks to be around daybreak.
