LINCOLN, Neb. -- Early Monday morning Lincoln Police officers noticed a vehicle parked in the lot of Roper park after closing.

Just before 3:30 a.m. on December 27, officers saw a black Kia Optima in the lot of Roper Park near 9th and Judson Streets.

Authorities said that officers contacted the driver and a passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old Makayla Jackson.

Police said that Jackson gave officers a false name, but they were eventually able to positively identify her. Officers found that Jackson had an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant.

Officials said that officers tried to take Jackson into custody but she fled on foot. Officers caught up with Jackson, where she continued struggling and proceeded to bite an officer on his thigh.

Authorities said that officers were eventually able to place Jackson into handcuffs with the assistance of a taser. Once in custody, Jackson continued resisting officers and trying to pull away from them.

Jackson was arrested for resisting arrest, third-degree assault on officer, obstructing a peace officer, and false reporting.
