CRETE, NE — A southeast Nebraska motorcyclist is dead following a crash with a semi.

Around 4:20 Thursday afternoon, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an accident about five miles west of Crete on Highway 33. 24-year-old Juan Lopez-Adame of Crete was flown by medical helicopter to a Lincoln hospital, where he later died.

An investigation showed Lopez-Adame was driving a motorcycle westbound when a semi-tractor trailer was completing an eastbound turn onto Highway 33 from County Road 1900. Lopez-Adame lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. He was wearing a helmet.
