Middle school student cited for sexual assault in Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Police in central Nebraska say a 13-year-old middle school student has been cited for first-degree sexual assault of another student.

Grand Island Police say the assault happened in April at Walnut Middle School.

The male suspect and female victim are both students at Walnut.

The incident was reported by a separate student.

School officials and law enforcement are still investigating the incident.
