BEATRICE - Two area women want to upgrade an area at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, to honor families who have lost a child at birth.

Robin Butler and Jina Raber have received approval by the City of Beatrice to use Chautauqua Park for a fundraising event August 14th, for what they call the Little Angels project.

The women want to raise about $20,000 to add a five-foot tall statue, some benches and greenery to a small area at the south end of the cemetery, which is located close to U.S Highway 136. A committee has been established to raise funds for the project.

The women are working with the Beatrice Cemetery Association and hope to have the project in place by this September.
