DE WITT, NE — From neighbors and teammates… to conference rivals.

Seniors Brandon Beeson and Drew Garrison have thrown the football around their yards and around the field at Tri County High School for the past five years. Now, they’re signing up to go against each other in the GPAC.

“Every once in a while, we would go out and play catch together and talk about it but now we’re living it," Beeson said. "We’re going to play college ball against each other.”

“(It has been fun) seeing his growth and my growth throughout the years," Garrison said. "Hopefully I’ll be able to strap up the pads one day and play him.”

Beeson signed to play at back-to-back NAIA champion Morningside.

“I get four more years of opportunity at a great school who already has the bricks laid out to go out there and win," Beeson said. "Now it’s my turn to be able to put those cleats on and build on what they already laid out for me.”

Garrison signed to play at Doane University in Crete. His step-brother Riley Homolka just finished four years as a Tiger.

“Last night we actually sat down and he told me some things," Garrison said. "I was like, ‘Yeah I really think I can fit in and make a difference at Doane.’”

Garrison and Beeson are part of a senior class that built Tri County football from a one-win team as freshmen, to a semifinalist in the state tournament as seniors.
